SNGPL and SSGC coverage

Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) supplies natural gas across Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Islamabad and Azad Kashmir, while Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) serves Sindh and Balochistan. The logo and helpline on your bill tell you which company runs your meter, and both use the same consumer number system for online bill checks and duplicate bills.

How your gas meter reading works

Your gas meter records volume in hundred cubic metres, and the meter reader notes it each month. The company converts that reading to MMBTU using the heating value of the gas, then applies the OGRA slab to work out the charge. A sudden jump with no change in usage can mean an estimated reading, which the customer centre can correct against your consumer number.

What your gas bill includes

A Sui gas bill splits the total into the cost of gas used, a fixed meter rent, general sales tax, and, for commercial and industrial users, the gas infrastructure development cess. Any unpaid amount from an earlier month is carried forward as arrears, and a missed due date adds a late payment surcharge to the next bill.

New gas connection and security deposit

A new SNGPL or SSGC connection starts with a demand notice, a survey, and a security deposit based on the gas load you apply for. After the meter is installed, the first bill carries your consumer number, which then becomes the key for every online check and duplicate bill afterwards.

How to pay your Sui gas bill

Pay your gas bill through any authorised bank branch, internet or mobile banking, or a wallet such as Easypaisa or JazzCash, all against your consumer number. Pay before the due date to avoid the late payment surcharge, and keep the receipt until the next bill shows the amount cleared.

FAQs

Sui gas bill questions

Pick SNGPL or SSGC, enter the consumer number printed on your gas bill, and open the official portal to view the current amount, due date and gas units. You can then print the bill or save it as a PDF.

The consumer number sits in the top section of your SNGPL or SSGC bill, next to your name and address. It stays the same every month, so you note it once and reuse it for any future bill check.

Enter your consumer number and open the bill that loads. An SNGPL duplicate bill matches the original, costs nothing, and is accepted at bank counters for payment.

SNGPL supplies gas to Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Islamabad and Azad Kashmir, while SSGC covers Sindh and Balochistan. Check the logo on your bill to know which company serves your meter.

Gas use rises in winter as heaters and geysers run more, and higher usage pushes you into a costlier tariff slab set by OGRA. Compare this month's units against last month's on the bill to see the change.

Pay your gas bill through a bank branch, internet banking, or a mobile wallet such as Easypaisa or JazzCash using your consumer number. Keep the receipt until the next bill shows the amount cleared.

A gas consumer number is a unique code that SNGPL or SSGC prints at the top of your bill to identify your meter and connection. It does not change month to month, so you enter it once to open any current or past gas bill.

Gas is measured in hundred cubic metres (HM3) at the meter and then converted to MMBTU for billing. Your bill shows both the metered reading and the billed MMBTU, and the tariff slab is applied to the MMBTU figure set by OGRA.

The gas infrastructure development cess is a government charge added to gas bills to fund pipeline and import projects. It appears as a separate line on commercial and industrial bills, while most protected domestic users are exempt.

Protected gas consumers use small monthly volumes and pay the lowest OGRA slabs, while non-protected consumers use more and pay higher per-MMBTU rates. Your bill states which category applies, and staying within the protected limit keeps the rate low.

Apply for a new gas connection at your nearest SNGPL or SSGC customer centre with your CNIC, proof of property, and the demand notice fee. After the survey, security deposit and meter installation, the first bill is generated with your consumer number for online checks.

Lower your gas bill by servicing the geyser and heater, lowering the thermostat, and using gas appliances less during peak winter months. Smaller monthly volumes can keep you inside the protected slab, where the per-MMBTU rate is lowest.

A late gas bill adds a late payment surcharge on top of the current charges once the due date passes. Repeated non-payment can lead to disconnection, so pay before the due date and keep the receipt until it clears.
